When renovating a restaurant, many things are to be considered before plans are made and dates are set. Restaurant owners however, do not always see eye-to-eye with interior designers; never quite knowing whether the interior designers are simply money grabbing, or genuinely giving owners constructive criticism, that visions are perhaps too far-fetch.
Design versus functionality is a significant problem for renovation teams, some visions are too far gone to turn ambitious designs into reality, and maybe the only way owners are going to get what they really want is having an abundance of money, which they just have not got.
Of course, everyone wants something more than they can afford; going to a car dealer for example, always leaves car owners stumped for cash on over-spending, with no real profit other than satisfying their own ego.
Whereas interior designers look after clients, and when the clients are content, the money starts to appear. Not every dream interior can be built unfortunately, in the same way we cannot have everything in life, however interior designers are there to offer solutions and suggest alternative methods. When the dream is too far-fetch, the functionality gets lost in the process.
Functionality is often compromised when visions are finally fabricated, and when customer needs are not met, figures drop dramatically, leaving not only a hole in your pocket, but your reputation spiralling down the drain.
Simple alterations to the original design can prevent this from happening, such as changes in materials, colour schemes, and most importantly, asking what the customers really wants first.
Restaurants that dramatically change their appearance, could be deceiving new potential customers. Changes to the complete layout, colour scheme, and seating areas, could potentially prove difficult to determining your business, when walking by. Keeping to the basics, and merely letting people know that you are a restaurant, is the best thing possible.
Customers will be less reluctant to come in and take a browse if they know who you are and what you are selling. The worst thing possibly done is change the interior so much that it is unrecognisable.
Location is vital to the proposal; there is no advantage in designing a sophisticated and modish restaurant if it is squeezed between a fish and chip shop that is tarnished and a newsagent that is coated in graffiti. Buildings are intended to represent their surroundings and in some cases enhance it.
Finally is the intended audience; if the restaurant is aimed for both men and women, then the interior moderation should be neutral, so they equally enjoy going to that particular restaurant.
Interior dreams can be transformed into a reality, which is certain, however specific dreams need to edged towards functionality before reality can be captured. Do not get carried away by the dream, stick to what you know, and what works well. Leave it to the experts to guide you along the right path.

Restaurant renovations are so hip that The Food Network actually chronicles restaurant makeovers on prime time television. The moral to the story is clear: when an eatery hits a plateau, restaurant renovations can be like the magic bean in Jacks infamous stalk. Lets face it. Sometimes menu renovations are not enough sometimes you need a complete overhaul.
There are many benefits to restaurant renovations. Restaurant renovations offer you an opportunity to become new again in the minds of customers. Restaurant renovations allow you to reconsider the traffic flow of the restaurant for greater efficiency. Restaurant renovations could even allow you to make better use of your square footage so you can squeeze more guests into your store.
Restaurant renovations can be large or small. Perhaps you found a unique opportunity to take up residence in an historic building on high-trafficked Main Street and need to transform the antiquated interior into a chic eatery. Or maybe you have a much simpler restaurant renovation in mind, like giving the restrooms a facelift or building an exhibition kitchen in the dining area. Creative restaurant renovation possibilities are endless.
In the wake of a natural disaster like hurricanes, tornadoes, fires and floods, restaurant renovations are sometimes unavoidable. However, forward-thinking restaurant owners view the setback as an opportunity. That is exactly what Seor Frogs did when Hurricane Wilma destroyed most of its restaurants literally overnight. Restaurant renovation was not an option, so the owner made the best of a bad situation with creative restaurant design ideas that re-introduced the brand in a fresh way.
Seor Frogs restaurant renovation took the opportunity to rebuild and re-brand at the same time. Seor Frogs has a simple philosophy that directs its employees, its menu, and its restaurant interior design consulting: have fun.
While undergoing a restaurant renovation is nowhere near as fun as relaxing on the beach, which is what most of Seor Frogs guests like to do, the outcome offered an experience for the playful at heart. Indeed, Seor Frogs restaurant renovation communicates a carefree feeling to its guests and encourages that sense of playfulness that characterizes its mascot, a skinny, green frog that dresses in blue jeans and sandals.
The restaurant renovation incorporated fun concepts like miniature put-put golf with a $100 bar tab prize, innertubes in the ceiling, and a hot tub smack dab in the middle of the restaurant. The restaurant renovation even made way for a slide that dumps guests into the lagoon outside the store. Seor Frogs restaurant renovation was no vacation, but the end result draws more vacationers than ever before to this hip eatery.
Whether you are merely renovating a kitchen or are taking the plunge with a complete restaurant renovation, relying on restaurant interior design experts can save you time and money. As with any building renovation there are always surprises along the way. Experienced restaurant designers have the foresight to plan for the challenges and serve up a restaurant renovation that reinvigorates the brand name.

At times, excellent food and superior service is not enough for a restaurant to become a hit to customers. Sometimes a good restaurant design is what is called for. The following are some guidelines for creating that ambiance.
First of all, the owner or the restaurant manager should determine their target customers for this restaurant. Do they have in mind the Class A, Class B, or Class C? Class A customers would be those rich people who don’t have to work to earn any money. Class B customers would be the salaried professionals and educated workers. Class C customers would include people who do manual labor.
Based on the target customers, create a setting that would speak to the customer. Is it formal or casual? Determine also the budget for the design. Is it high-end, mid-scale, or budget? What sort of ambiance do you want to project? Is it going to be a theme restaurant? What is the locale of the site? Should the food being served match the setting? Does the budget of the design and construction go with the expectations of the client?
The visual display must compliment each other thru texture, color, contrasting materials, seating, and tabletops. Even the dishes, glassware, and the silver must contribute to the design. The visual spectacle should enhance the experience of the guest. Design elements should mirror the ambiance that is being intended as well as the expectations of the customer.
The bar and the kitchen work hand in hand. Make sure ample space is allocated for the servers to move with ease. The pattern of traffic should not congest the staff and the customers. The drinks should be served as quick as possible. The kitchen should follow the standards of culinary requirements. The chef should be able to reach everything from his workstation.
With the use of screens, banquettes, and booths, partition large spaces into cozy, intimate pockets. Grand architectural elements like columns and fireplaces should accentuate large airy spaces. Eliminate emptiness and expand the sense of space with the use of mirrors. Plus, it is also a great tool for observing people without invading their privacy.
Use dramatic lighting to highlight focal points. For effect, illuminate a piece of artwork, a wall of unusual texture, or even the dining tables themselves. An example of this is bathing tabletops with beams of light in a half-dark room. The diner’s attention will be focused on the plate presentation creating a sense of intimate space.
High ceilings coupled with brightly lit spaces suggest a sense of energy and vitality. Low ambient lighting from wall lamps or sconces can create a cozier feel.

This is a restaurant design case study, which we took only twenty-one days to complete the renovation for the Japanese restaurant. Find out how we managed to achieve this short timeline.
This Japanese restaurant owner currently operates his outlet at Orchard Ion Shopping Mall. As their restaurant reputation was very good, they wanted to open another outlet at Market Street.
The dateline for the new outlet was very tight. Worst, for the majority part of the restaurant design, it consists of sales counter, kitchen cabinets, dining furniture. All these woodwork construction require time, so how can we make it on time?
Our Project coordinator was a bit worried and she had brought the drawings back to the office for a discussion with our designers. We have also invited the woodwork company staff to join us for the discussion on how we can complete the project in twenty-one days.
As the Japanese restaurant is an international franchise outlet, for the majority part of the restaurant design, they already had their own design theme. Nevertheless, our designers still have to come up for the detail working drawings.
Therefore, the work experience and efficiency level of our designers are tested. Although the timeline was very tight, both our project coordinator and the contractor had managed to arrange for the work schedule.
When our project coordinator received the confirmation from our designers and the contractor, she felt confidence. The project coordinator promised our customers confidently that we could complete the renovation in twenty-one days.
In order for the renovation to complete within the stipulated dateline, our designers had worked late for several nights to rush the working drawings for the contractor. The contractor had also worked extra hours for the restaurant. For many nights, our project coordinator was always the last person to leave the site.
Finally, the renovation completed on time. Our project coordinator had handed over the project to the customers. In addition, she called me anxiously telling me that the project had completed. I asked her “Is the customer satisfied?” she said, “hearing my happy voice, you would have known the answer.” I laughed too!
We are most happy when our customers are satisfied with our company’s interior design services!

For many decades, restaurants have seen a lot of success. This is largely due to the idea that many people can be entertained and get nourishment all in the same location.
While some restaurants are often more successful than others for many reasons, there are some things that can easily be done to ensure the overall success of a dining establishment.
One of the more important steps you can take is to hire an interior designer. A designer with experience working with restaurants will know which elements work well and which do not, and have a good idea of how to arrange the restaurant.
Most restaurant owners would do well to do some research on possible restaurant designs before deciding exactly how to lay out and decorate their restaurant.
Some designs work much better than others, which can be seen if local restaurants are toured to get an idea of the possibilities for restaurant design. Another way to find out more about the best designs is to ask the customers which design elements they like and don’t like in various restaurants.
If you do not want to have to come up with a new design in just a few years, it is best to stay away from what is trendy. Sticking with a classic design will mean that updates to your design will not be required as often.
Choosing the appropriate dinnerware and silverware is also an important aspect of restaurant design. Dining establishments that serve international delicacies, such as Oriental, Mexican, and Italian foods, will find that using colorful dinnerware that complements the food enhances the dining experience.
When choosing the different elements for the restaurant design, it is important to consider the durability of the items. You want them to last, so make sure that everything is sturdy and will be able to handle the heavy use it will get.
The decor and lighting along with the overall theme in any restaurant should really make the customers feel as though they belong. Whether the theme is focused on elegance or casual dining, it is essential that the lighting be soft and the chairs be comfortable so that it feels welcoming to anyone who enters.
As with any restaurant operating today, it takes a lot of combined elements within the exterior and interior design, to create a welcoming atmosphere that will make the customers keep coming back for more.

Many restaurants are still opening their doors for business, even at such economy downturn, mainly because the food industries are not suffering as bad as the retails. There are many aspects to think about prior to opening a restaurant, though restaurant design is paramount and should be given great consideration.
Many that open a new restaurant often consult a designer to help with the setup and design of the restaurant to determine their success. Interior design is the most important part out of many things to consider when marketing a restaurant.
The reason for this is one of the only things that will set one restaurant apart from all of the others in the area. All of the design elements will be based upon who is the target market, it is very important and it will helps in positioning your company.
A nostalgic restaurant design works for baby-boomers, but a modern edge is more apparent for the teenage crowd.
Another consideration, which needs to be made before opening a new restaurant, is how it will be laid out/organized. A great choice for maintaining your living space in a clean and neat way is to have a large restroom and kitchen.
For safety reasons, there is additional space in these areas; I am very sure that this also provides your employees to work in a more comfortable environment.
Soft lighting gives off a relaxing feeling, which allows people to enjoy more while dining out. A feeling of being in home must be present, with providing comfortable chairs and tables.
The elements used should correspond to the type of food that is being served as well as what the target market will enjoy, whether a contemporary, modern, natural, or rustic interior design is chosen for the restaurant design.
The restaurant has a good chance at success if the layout is, for the most part, open plan and the interior design exudes comfort.
